Adelaide Is Set To Be Swarmed By Microbats

Take shelter, Adelaide. Dangerous microbats are headed your way.

Literally the same weekend Nickelback flew into South Australia for a concert, the Environment Department has warned locals of an invasion by a slightly less gross but still chilling nuisance.

Hasn't this state already suffered enough?

According to ABC News, microbats are about the size of mice, and they can find their way into your home by sneaking through windows or chimneys.

The nocturnal bats are seeking somewhere to hibernate until spring.

Before you think of them as ‘like a regular bat, but cuter’ and go in for a microbat snuggle, the Environment Department has warned South Australians to avoid them at all costs, as a small percentage carry a rabies-like virus. The same warning has been passed along regarding the members of Nickelback.

Should you be unlucky enough to find a microbat in your house, contact Adelaide Bat Care, a 24-hour voluntary rescue and advisory service.

Anyway, sleep well tonight!
