5SOS Guitarist's Hair Catches On Fire During Concert

Dave Grohl wasn’t the only musician to suffer the wrath of live rock and roll over the weekend.

Australia’s sons 5 Seconds of Summer played their second of three sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Arena on Saturday evening, which should have been a cause for celebration, if one of the band members hadn’t accidentally been set alight during the encore.

Guitarist Michael Clifford caught on fire after playing too close to the stage pyrotechnics.

You can watch the video of the burning below, but be warned: it features footage of a man's head being consumed by flames, so yes, it's mildly distressing.

He left the stage immediately and was rushed to hospital. Clifford later took to social media to reassure fans he was doing fine, though the giant bandage on his head suggests this was a pretty close shave.

Bass guitarist Calum Hood was also skimmed by the pyrotechnics, yet he seemed to get away mostly unscathed.

Unsurprisingly, the band decided to turn off the pyrotechnics for their final show at Wembley.

No one is holding it against them.

Musicians around the globe are now nervously taking to their respective stages, knowing full well that catastrophic accidents like these usually happen in threes. Be careful out there...
