The spatial sciences involves a range of disciplines focused around location on the Earth's (or Moon's) surface including, but not limited to, surveying, geographic information science, global navigation and satellite systems (GNSS), geodesy, photogrammetry and laser scanning, remote sensing, and so on. After all, knowing what is where, is crucially important in almost every domain of our world, including resources, environment, infrastructure, health and transportation.
\r\nWe are proud to have implemented the first bachelor degree in geographic information systems (GIS) in the world, be offering a surveying program which commenced in Western Australia over 50 years ago, and be offering one of the longest-standing mine surveying programs in Australia.
\r\nThe Department of Spatial Sciences also takes pride in providing learning programs that are applicable, innovative and closely linked to the dynamic and rapidly evolving requirements of the spatial sciences industry.
