We're looking for enthusiastic young creatives with strong opinions, a flair for the written word and a talent for taking on challenges to contribute to Student Edge.
If you’re interested in a career in journalism (print, broadcast or online), communications, media relations or film & television, get some experience with Student Edge. If you've got a knack for photojournalism or videojournalism, we want you too!
For six months, you’ll contribute weekly articles or assist in the production of in-house videos.
Under the instruction of an Editor, you’ll be invited to participate in pitch meetings, be given feedback on your work and offered periodic one-on-one mentoring sessions (in person, over the phone and email, or via Skype).
This year, we've already seen fantastic teen contributors from across the country participate in our program. Check out some of the work by Susan Alfayadh, Bianca Welsh-Jayne, Eloise Parks and Kyle Uglow-Turpin.
Contributing to Student Edge is the perfect move for those looking to build up their folio or add to their reel.
You must be over the age of 16 to apply. Applicants from all over Australia are welcome. To make your case, simply write a 300-word movie, album or television review below. If you'd like to send in some photos or video footage displaying your journalistic talents instead - or would simply rather submit your entry via email - drop a line to editor@studentedge.com.au. We’re now accepting submissions for a July 2016 start!
