To go in the running to win 1 of 5 $100 JB Hi-Fi gift cards, share your tips for staying cyber safe!
We're calling on Student Edge members to contribute to an upcoming article about Cyber Safety ahead of Safer Internet Day 2019 (Tuesday 5 February).
#SID2019 is an annual, worldwide event held to encourage "a better internet" based on the 4Rs: Respect, Responsibility, Reasoning and Resilience.
What do you do online to demonstrate 'reasoning and resilience' online? Do you have any advice for younger students when it comes to 'responsibility'? And how would you like to see internet users demonstrate more 'respect'?
The best answers will be featured in an article published on Student Edge, and the five very best answers will score one of those sweet JB Hi-Fi gift cards! Submit your entry (between 25 and 250 words) below!

Stick to your own boundaries, don't force yourself to be surrounded by things or people online that make you uncomfortable The internet can be toxic af but it doesn't have to be, as long as you excise caution about what you're personally comfortable with and remove yourself from whatever you're not
Trust your gut. If you feel unsafe about talking to someone or accepting a friend request then get yourself out of that situation, decline them, block people and stop taking to them and keep your location turned off at all time. If someone asks for information about you and you don’t know them, don’t give it to them and if the persist block them. Your gut will tell you when something seems off, and you should listen.
My cyber safety tips are To create strong and unique pasword so that to keep the both informations safe and avoid hackers. To use a Firewall even if the network is secure to block all unauthorized acess to devices when surfing online. When sharing the personal informations online it should be smart selective on what informations you are supporse to share and what to remain private. Be careful when responding messages from strangers, doing clicks and apps download from official recognized stores to avoid malicious and risks to the devices.
First of all 5th Feb is coincidentally my birthday!! My cyber safety tip is to not talk to people you know now, even if you know then though a friend you can never be sure if they are trustworthy!! You need to be fully aware of you surroundings and don’t share passwords.
