Hey, budding writers and social commentators everywhere.
Welcome to the Student Edge writing challenge, where you’re invited to write on a topic nominated by us.
You have one week to submit your entry. The winning story will be published on Student Edge. For their troubles, the winner will score a $50 gift card from Westfield.
Keep it smart, keep it clean and most of all, keep it under three minutes reading time.
Here's a TIP: One line answers don't tend to make for an entertaining article (this isn't one of those 25 words or less competitions) so put your thinking caps on and write something you think others will find interesting.
Check out our guide to winning the writing challenge for some dos and don'ts.
Your latest writing challenge is:
Is Kanye A Genius Or A Loudmouth (Or Both)?
Is Kanye really as masterful as he claims, or is he simply the loudest voice in music?
Deadline: 28/02/2016 11:59:00 PM EST

While Kanye West may at times may be eccentric and a publicly accepted loudmouth for his viewpoints and opinions on various situations, can he be considered a genius?
From a song-writing perspective Kanye writes content that speaks brutal honesty about his experiences and the way he views life. With that in mind it has the ability to connect to many people from various ethnicities and cultures.
Having won more than 20 Grammys and being one of the most influential individuals in hip-hop in recent decades, Kanye must posses some level of genius to be able to achieve such high accolades.
From a moral or PR perspective however is still debatably if he’s a genius. It all depends if you are a die hard fan or not. Either way it’s perceived, Kanye West does possess talented skill in his field.
Kanye is a genius in the most horrid way. Whether he is aware of it or not, Kanye's infamous ego has easily popularised himself and his music, whether it be for the wrong reasons or not. Kanye has performed many stunts in which not only has he publicly embarrassed himself but made himself look like a horrid person. Even still it put himself and his name in the spotlight. For example, with Taylor Swift getting Album of the year, her whole speech was essentially focused around a particular lyric Kanye had in a song. Even if he didn't get the grammy, he was still the focus. In that aspect I would say Kanye is a genius but for all the wrong reasons.
