Hugh Jackman plays George in this hilarious, witty mystery that rewrites the classic whodunnit and is based on the novel Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann.

Every night, shepherd George reads detective novels to his beloved sheep, assuming they don’t understand. However, when an unexpected incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep appear to be the ones who step up to investigate. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.

Directed by Kyle Balda (co-director of The Lorax, Minions, Despicable Me 3), The Sheep Detectives stars Hugh Jackman (The Greatest Showman), Nicholas Galitzine (The Idea of You), and Emma Thompson (Love Actually).

In cinemas 7 May 2026.
