You Can Now See Your Uber Rating (And Never Unsee It)
One of Uber's biggest benefits is the ability its app gives you to rate your drivers, allowing for passive-aggressive punishment or a kind-of “pay it forward” reward depending on the quality of your ride.
It also gives drivers an average rating that you can see when hailing an Uber. But it’s a double-edged sword, because drivers give their fares a score out of five as well.
Unlike drivers, however, we’ve all been able to live in ignorant bliss, believing ourselves to be five-star passengers who talk the exact right amount and always smell great.
No longer.
At the end of last month, Uber started publicising a feature on their app that allows riders to see their own score. (The feature was introduced quietly last year.)
Provided you’ve downloaded the latest update, you just need to select ‘Help’ on the Uber app and scroll down to ‘Account’ where you’ll find a new option: “I’d like to know my rating.” (The Washington Post has a handy GIF explaining it all.)
Follow the instructions and, within moments, you’ll get to see your score. Are you a 4.9? A 3.7? A… 2.1?
Regardless of what you receive, the most painful part is not getting any explanation for your score.

So here's a question. If you've only ever used Uber once and then checked your rating, you're going to know which driver gave you that rating... and effectively, if you then checked your average after each subsequent rating, you're gonna know what rating those other drivers gave you too (up to a certain point where rounding gets too confusing).
So hopefully Uber have thought about this and put some rules in place to avoid this problem e.g. make you wait until you've gotten at least three ratings before you can see your average. Can anyone who's only used Uber once see if this rule is in place?
