A Workplace War Is Brewing Between Millennials And Everyone Else

A new report has found there is growing discontent between the generations who are forced, cruelly, to share work environments.
According to ABC News, recruitment firm Robert Walters has found just over half of Millennials have experienced – or witnessed – intergenerational conflict at work.
Seems like a good enough time to recycle the internet’s favourite meme:

Gen Xers and Baby Boomers are reportedly annoyed with Millennials’ expectations of rapid career progression (before they’ve even put in the hours).
Millennials, meanwhile, are frustrated with their elders who are unable – or flat-out unwilling – to use new technology in the workplace.

Will this end with an intergenerational battle royale? Probably not. In fact, you're probably more likely to witness an exodus of Millennials from Australia before war breaks out.
According to the same report, almost nine in 10 young people in Australia and New Zealand are keen to seek employment overseas.
Their itchiness to work abroad is being attributed to Australia’s slowing economy and a rise in unemployment.
It also speaks to the “borderless world” Gen Y is growing up with, says Robert Walters ANZ managing director James Nicholson.
But, until those young Aussies decide to jump ship, the other generations will simply have to deal with the increasing Gen Y intrusion on Australian workplaces.
