Who Is The Greatest Mother In History?

The first person I think of is my own mother.
However, sadly, she cannot be included or all-out war would start by people letting me know that their mother is in fact the best and greatest mum in the world. I am not disagreeing with anyone. Everyone’s mother is great for one reason: they are your mum! (The same goes to the dads but we’re not talking about them until the 6th of September.)
So who can be the greatest mum in history? Is it Mrs. Vassilyev, a mother of 69 children born between 1725 and 1765? I’m sure she has the biggest chance of getting the most votes with all those kids in the running. Yet, how can one person be a great mother to so many children? Love can only stretch so far before it begins to tear and break.
Well, who else could be the greatest mum? Is it Rhea, an ancient Greek Titian who, to stop her brother/husband from eating him, hid one of her children, Zeus, in a cave to protect him? But then, what about her other five children who were eaten by Cronos and didn’t get out till Zeus saved them?
How about Cleopatra? She raised her children to be strong and they helped her rule Egypt. Even if her mothering style was very tactical, they got the most out of their lives. Her daughter, also named Cleopatra, married into royalty herself. Again though, raising strong, independent children doesn’t always make you one of their "favourite" people.
Maybe it's someone a bit more modern. When you are looking for good mothers you can’t go past Angelina Jolie, for instance. Apart from being one of Hollywood’s highest paid actresses, she is also a mother with a spectacular resume. Alongside her three biological children, Angelina has adopted three more from diverse places around the world. It would be a big challenge to do this effectively, however she seems to have made it work perfectly.
With all of these great mothers, how are we meant to choose the greatest mum in history? Every mothering technique has a human flaw and that’s what makes mothers mothers. If we were to remove their humanity, then we'd just have children raised by robots instead. Every mother is different, every mother is perfect and every mother is flawed. Some make mistakes. Yet, without them, nobody on earth would be here. (Basic biology). So, I believe that every mother in past, present and future is the Greatest Mother Ever because they have shaped and will continue to shape the world as we know it. Keep at it, mums!
