Where to Buy "To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before" (Because Everywhere’s Seemingly Sold Out)

In case you hadn’t heard, the rom-com is back, baby.

Though the massive success of Crazy Rich Asians at the box office might be the official marker of the once-dormant genre’s return to the mainstream, we really need to thank Netflix for the revival.

Earlier this year—in fact, maybe even going back to A Christmas Prince in November—Netflix carved out a niche with original romantic comedies that captured the zeitgeist, like The Kissing Booth and Set It Up.

The staff at GIPHY have never been so busy.

But their latest, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, is looking like it’s their biggest rom-com yet, and though Netflix never reveals their streaming figures, the sheer volume of social media chatter (not to mention the massive 95 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes) indicates the people approve.

Another sign of success: the book by Jenny Han, upon which its based, is almost sold out across Australia, and online too.

Here’s where you can order the book if your local doesn't have a copy (as of 28 August).

Angus and Robertson’s hardbacks and paperbacks are all on backorder, but their prices are cheaper than most. But at least patient Student Edge members get a discount with A&R.

Booktopia has the cheapest selection (including follow-ups, P.S. I Still Love You and Always and Forever, Lara Jean), especially when you add the Student Edge discount. At the moment, they don’t have any copies on hand, but more stock is apparently "arriving soon".

Over at Dymocks, you can get the eBook instantly (in English and French!) or order the hardcover book, and see it dispatched within 4 – 5 business days.

The usually reliable Book Depository (based in the UK) says most prints of the book are flat-out "unavailable" but there is a still a hardback and CD audiobook you can snag.

On Amazon, you can get the book for less than $4 for the Kindle. However, the paperback is "temporarily out of stock" and the hardback is being distributed from the U.S., so it’ll take some time.

Meanwhile, the iBook on Apple is available right now for $8.99.

The point being, if you’re desperate to read Han’s tale (or the whole trilogy) right away, you can.

But if you want to physically hold the paper in your hands… probably best to place an order now and find some way to distract yourself for a week or two (perhaps just by re-watching Netflix rom-coms over and over again).
