Vine Is Dead (Like, Actually)

News has arrived that Twitter has officially killed off Vine. Rest in peace?
The decision comes just after Twitter announced its latest quarterly earnings in a post on Medium.
It's not all doom and gloom, though. The mobile app might be gone forever, but the website will remain.
"We'll be keeping the website online because we think it's important to still be able to watch all the incredible Vines that have been made. You will be notified before we make any changes to the app or website," the announcement reads.
Vine news is tragic. Everyone sharing their favorites is great, though. I think this was mine: https://t.co/30lIRJ3NBr

Killing off Vine wasn't exactly a huge surprise for some people. Speaking to New York Magazine, one high school student said: "Vine is kinda irrelevant now because so many new things have come out and Vine hasn't really updated anything."
The new things include, of course, Snapchat stories and Instagram's 60 second video feature.
Many Vine superstars have also shared their two cents on the decision. The popular Lele Pons Tweeted out an optimistic message to her fans:
Twitter is shutting down vine :( but they're not shutting down the creators on the platform. 😅 there's more to come from everyone

Another popular Viner Simone Shepherd said that it'll be a natural progression for content makers to just migrate to another platform. She said Facebook videos are capable of generating several million views, so that will be her next frontier.
Also, shout out to this guy who had a hilariously good response.
Yeah Twitter, what's up with that?
