And Now Here's Tony Abbott Singing An A Cappella Rendition of "Suspicious Minds"

The Sydney Morning Herald has, hilariously, released audio of former Prime Minister Tony Abbott singing “Suspicious Minds” (a cappella).

Originally released by Mark James in 1968, "Suspicious Minds" was made famous by Elvis Presley. That is, until this latest cover was released.

The impromptu performance reportedly comes from the National Party’s Christmas drinks, held last night in Canberra.

Though the audio only goes on for 18 seconds, the former PM’s haunting refrain truly does linger in one’s soul.

The song clearly holds a special place in Abbott’s heart; apparently, this was the tune playing on the evening of his ousting from the Prime Ministerial position back in September – at the precise moment the infamous marble table was broken in his suite as a result of the revelry.
