Tim Cahill Calls Absurd A-League Goal One Of His Best Ever

I mean, have you seen this thing?
Tim Cahill - the all-time top goal-scorer for Australia's national team - had little to prove at his A-League debut on Saturday.
And yet, in the 27th minute of his first game for Melbourne City, the 36-year-old announced his arrival in spectacular fashion, 35m out from the goals.
It's... it's beautiful.
Speaking to press after the game, Cahill agreed that the volley was "up there" with his best ever goals.
“You’re in the game and that’s what I’ve done my whole career. It’s just a moment and I’ve taken it," he said.
Of course, Melbourne Victory goalie Lawrence Thomas is now reckoning with the fact that he's the man who let Cahill's bomb into the back of the net.
It doesn't help the fact that Cahill confessed he specifically took the risky shot because, prior to the game, Melbourne City "watched a video that [showed] the goalkeeper likes to take chances, he likes to come out."
Victory coach Kevin Muscat has tried to absorb the blame, saying "I asked him to stand there."
Still, we can't imagine many are going to give Thomas a hard time for his role here.
Could you imagine being on the wrong side of that kick?
