This Is What Happens When a Ryan Gosling Imposter Accepts an Award for “La La Land”

And this time, La La Land actually was the winner.

Ryan Gosling is a very good, very adorable actor, but no, he is not suddenly chameleonic enough to pretend that he’s a chubby German dude.

At the German equivalent of the Oscars (the Goldene Kamera Awards), Ryan Gosling was invited onto the stage to accept an award for La La Land.

Except, Gosling didn’t walk out at all. Instead, Munich chef (and weak-sauce Gosling impersonator) Ludwig Lehner took the microphone. I suppose he kind-of looks like Gosling if you squint… to the point where your eyes are completely shut and you’re just replaying Half Nelson in your head.

Endure the awkwardness below:

According to Fox News, the appearance of Faux Gosling was a complete surprise for the event organisers, who had hoped to snag the actual Baby Goose for their ceremony.

Turns out local pranksters Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf set up a fake agency that assured the Goldene Kamera team they could get Gosling to appear if he received an award.

Lehner’s speech went a little something like this: “I dedicate this award to Joko and Klass, thank you very much. There is a saying in Hamburg, which is, ‘bye bye!’”

Following his speedy exit, the host, Steven Gaetjen, apologised to the crowd, which included a tickled Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell.

Is it just me, or have awards ceremonies gotten really good lately?
