The teaser for Maze Runner: The Death Cure has arrived. And to think, this thing almost never happened.

Back in 2016, star Dylan O’Brien suffered a near-fatal injury on the set of the third Maze Runner movie, putting the entire franchise (and, yes, his life) at risk.

After a long hiatus—and a stint filming American Assassin, which was fine—O’Brien returned to the YA saga that goes hard AF. (Seriously, the only thing better than these flicks is their subtitles. The Scorch Trials? The Death Cure? C’mon.)

There’s not a whole lot of footage in the latest teaser, but it sure is delectable.

Start preparing yourself emotionally now. Maze Runner: The Death Cure arrives in January of 2018.
