The “Last of Us” Season Two Is Almost Here – Here’s What You Need to Know

Are you ready for season two? 🎥

We can’t wait. Because after a long, two year wait, season two of The Last of Us is about to be released.

Season two of the popular video game turned HBO Max show  premieres next Monday, 14 April, exclusively on HBO’s newest streaming platform, Max.

Plus, HBO have confirmed the show has been renewed for a third season! So the fun isn't over yet.

Episodes from the seven-episode second season will be dropped weekly on a Monday, so unfortunately that means no binge-watching.

Quick season one recap

I think we can all agree that season one was a mixture of heartbreak, laughter and everything in between.

Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) set out on a cross-country trip to find a cure for the deadly Cordyceps fungal infection, that turns the infected into zombies.

The pair later on discover that Ellie is immune to the infection and believe that she may be key to the cure.

The first season ended with Joel choosing to save Ellie, sacrificing a potential cure that could have helped save humanity from the Cordyceps infection.

What can we expect in season two?

If you’ve played the game, you probably know what’s to come for the new season. Season two is set five years after the season one finale.

Joel and Ellie have settled into life in Jackson, Wyoming, and their future is uncertain.

Prepare for revenge, emotional rollercoasters and messy situations this season.

Who will be in season two?

Of course, we can expect to see Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal to return for season two. And Tommy (Gabriel Luna) and Maria (Rutina Wesley) will also be back.

Season two will introduce us to Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), who is set to be an influential new character. Fans of the game have been waiting for her arrival for quite some time now. Abby is a fierce and determined character whose personal vendetta drives much of the season’s conflict.

We can also expect to be introduced to Ellie’s friend and romantic interest Dina (Isabela Merced), Jesse (Young Mazino) a friend whose role becomes vital to the community, Isaac (Jeffrey Wright), the powerful and intimating leader of the Washington liberation front and Gail (Catherine O’Hara), a mysterious newcomer.

Get ready, because this season is going to be intense 🫢

You can stream the upcoming season on the newly launched Max.
