Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa... and Ian Curtis?

If you remember the Teletubbies as a joyful, exuberant childrens TV show, prepare to have that memory replaced by a nightmarish, black-and-white vision of despair.

Musician Christopher G. Brown has mashed-up footage of the newly-black and white Teletubbies frolicking to the tune of Joy Division's funeral dirge "Atmosphere."

As you might imagine, it feels more like an Ingmar Bergman movie than a cheery kids program.

However, if the Teletubbies had always seemed to you as if they were ripped from the bowels of hell, this video probably won't change your opinion of them all that much.
