Remember: Grades aren’t everything.

Yes, achieving in high school might improve your chances of being accepted into uni, but they aren’t the be all and end all.

We’d never encourage you to slack off, but you can look at your education as a privilege, an opportunity to better yourself, a means to an end, because employers and universities will often look at what you do outside of the classroom as well.

Extra-curricular activities like music and sporting achievements go a long way to show you're a well-rounded student. And there are plenty of people out there that didn't get good grades but still went on to kick their goals!

But it’s always good to work hard and put in the hours of study you need to do your best to make your academic transcript stand out. Good grades (and a good ATAR) will let you pick your university and your degree with more freedom.
