Russell Crowe Keeps Getting Rejected For Australian Citizenship

New Zealand-born Academy Award winner Russell Crowe has groused to Radio Times about his difficulties in securing Australian citizenship.

This despite moving to the country as a child in 1968, being voted one of our “50 national treasures” and helping to raise the profile of Australian cinema abroad.

“I’ve even had my face on an Australian stamp, the only non-Australian to do so, apart from the Queen, of course. It’s so, so… unreasonable,” he said, forlornly.

Crowe also appeared in an episode of local comedy Acropolis Now once. The depths he has gone to for this country know no bounds.

The ball is now in the government’s court. If Rusty isn’t a citizen by next Australia Day, expect him to reprise the role of Romper Stomper’s Hando, but in real life.
