Robert Irwin Appeared on The Tonight Show and Totally Mirrored His Father

Robert Irwin showed his unwavering love for animals on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

The son of prominent Australian wildlife keeper and conservationist Steve Irwin made a tele appearance that brought back all the feels.

Steve Irwin passed away suddenly in September 2006 after a stingray attack, leaving behind his family of two children (Robert and Bindi) and wife Terry.

Together, the Irwin family have continued their wildlife work at Australia Zoo.

“My dad was actually on The Tonight Show quite a while ago,” fawned Robert. “So it’s really nice to be able to follow in his footsteps, it’s really great.”

Fallon exclaimed: “You’re actually your dad!”

Robert got out a bunch of different animals, starting with an African Dwarf Crocodile (adorably) named Beetlejuice. Afterwards, Mickey the Screaming Armadillo made an appearance.

Next up was an animal not for the faint of heart: Lady, the Boa Constricter. Robert instagrammed a side-by-side shot of himself and Steve, explaining how much of an honour it is to follow in his dad’s footsteps. The similarities are too real.

(Peep Fallon’s reaction, though.)

Bindi took to Twitter in admiration of her brother. “Tears in my eyes,” she wrote. “Robert, you are more and more like Dad every day. I’m forever thankful to be your sister.”
