Want Career Advice? Register for RISE Day 2022 to Receive Advice On Your Job Search

RISE and Shine.
RISE Day is back for a second year, after a hugely successful 2021, and they’re here to offer you the advice you need to kickstart your career.
RISE Day is an initiative run by tech recruitment company Talent under their foundation Talent RISE.
It’s aimed at giving young people a leg-up in their search for a career.
By registering, you’ll get the chance to speak with one of over 300 volunteers around the globe about your concerns, and what you can do to help bolster your career.
To dig deep into RISE Day, we spoke to Talent RISE Australia and New Zealand CEO Karen Graham about why you should register now.
With the benefit of last year’s data, Karen said the team of volunteers for RISE Day are “focused on supporting young people with the challenges of getting into the workforce”.

Last year's RISE Day saw the team support 450 young people for a total of nearly 2,200 hours, and it's only getting bigger from there.
How does it all work?
You can register for RISE Day online, and after filling out the online form, you’ll be contacted by someone from RISE to have a chat about you and what you want out of your career.
From there, you’ll be put in contact with someone that can help you heaps.
“We’ll match a young person up to somebody in the business, who, in the first week of September, will give them a call. From there, they’ll get some really useful advice and support, and potentially a chance to have an ongoing relationship.”

By matching you up with someone in the relevant business, you’ll get in-depth and personal advice that will be hugely helpful to your career.
Karen also said that for two lucky participants, there’s a valuable internship up for grabs.

“For two of the young people we speak to, there’ll be an opportunity to have an internship in the Talent business, to get four to six weeks of experience to put on their CV.”
So, there’s really no downsides to it.
What advice can they give me?
You might be sitting here thinking, well what will they actually tell me?
The advice is going to be specifically tailored to you, and will be really helpful advice that you can actually do something with.
The success of last year’s RISE Day has shown them that a lot of young people are facing the same roadblocks.
“The biggest challenge that we identified last year was a lack of experience,” Karen said.
But with RISE Day this year, the team at Talent RISE have the tools to tell you how to build the necessary experience to enter your field, or how to better articulate your experience to make you a better candidate.
Karen added that the team is ready for whatever you need help with, which could be things like building confidence, writing a CV or how to act in an interview.
“We really want to do whatever we can to support young people, and even just to be there for a chat and give that little bit of guidance is something we’d really love to have the opportunity to do.”
