Over 50,000 Angry Fans Have Now Signed a Petition for "Days Gone 2"

Sony, are you listening?

Fans of Days Gone—the biker-gang meets zombie apocalypse game—have rallied behind a petition for Sony to greenlight Days Gone 2 after reports that the sequel was canned.

Earlier in April it was reported by Bloomberg that Days Gone developer Sony Bend had pitched the idea of a sequel to Sony, but the company rejected the game as it wasn’t seen as a “viable option.”

Reasoning behind this is believed to be because the game had a drawn-out development process and received a mixed reception upon release.

Despite these criticisms, the game still made a profit and was one of the best-selling games of 2019. Plus, updates released for Days Gone turned public opinion around and made the Sony Exclusive a must-play for gamers everywhere.

In the light of Sony’s baffling rejection, fans have taken matters into their own hands and thrown support behind a petition on Change.org calling for Sony to reverse their decision and make a sequel.

As of writing this article, nearly 60,000 people have signed the petition and that number has been consistently growing since it was made two weeks ago.

“There’s millions of people who want Sony PlayStation to approve Days Gone 2,” the short description in the petition reads.

“They can’t just pull the plug on such an amazing game that ended with a cliff hanger.”

We couldn’t agree more.

This petition marks the groundswell that’s continuing to build around Days Gone, with Game Director Jeff Ross revealing in a livestream that the sequel would have featured “a shared universe with co-op play.”

Come on Sony! That sounds sick.

Since saying that, Ross left Sony Bend, so that probably doesn’t bode well for Days Gone 2.

Nonetheless, crazier things have happened and surely if the petition grows well into the hundred-thousands, Sony will have to at least consider making a sequel if the demand is so high.

At the moment for PlayStation Plus members Days Gone is one of the free games available to download for April alongside Zombie Army 4.
