How NFTs Are Turning Twelve-Year-Olds into Millionaires

While the world still tries to grapple with what the heck an NFT actually is (an explainer for you here), teens as young as 12 are making millions from ‘em.

There are hundreds of mini hustlers out there not only benefiting from their crypto earnings, but from the chance to showcase their skills and talents.

Whether they’re a prodigal coder or artist, some of these kids have gone on to feature in Time Magazine or receive the attention of celebrities.

Here are four NFT movers and shakers aged 18 or under.

Benyamin Ahmed, 12 years old.

Benyamin created a series of pixelated artworks called Weird Whales over his school holidays and made £290,000 (AUD $550,416).

He started coding at the age of five, encouraged by his father who is a software developer. Reckon it paid off?

Nyla Hayes, 13 years old.

This queen has earned over $5.7 million in Ether cryptocurrency with her Long Neckie Ladies collection.

It’s inspired by her love for the brontosaurus, and it’s proving to be quite popular. Just a little bit.

As a result of her success, Nyla created a collection for Time Magazine as an “Artist-in-Residence”, illustrating Time’s 100 Women of the Year. This girl is a verified artiste.

Erin Beesley, 14 years old.

Erin’s art sets itself apart from the others, being “generative”. And it’s selling for 14ETH, or $50,000.

According to Time, she learned about NFTs by playing an online game called Cryptokitties. Being an artist since she was a toddler, she then learned how to code in 2019 and fused the two skills together.

She says on her website, “I strive to create work that fills the gap in my brain”. Check out her work here.

Victor Langois, 18 years old.

Under the intimidating pseudonym “FEWOCiOUS”, this artist is a senior in high school and has grossed over $17 million in just under a year.

He forayed into digital art when he was 13 years old and used it as an escape as a young transgender artist.
