Our National Shame: America Celebrates National Puppy Day, But Australia Doesn't

Sure, Australia now has Netflix, but when will we get National Puppy Day?
Aussies are surely used to waiting a little bit longer for films and musical artists from the United States to make it to our shores, but we can no longer stand idly by while National Puppy Day takes place without our involvement.
The United States celebrate National Puppy Day, an initiative to find homes for orphaned puppies, on March 23. Meanwhile, locally, March 23 marks the beginning of National Wound Awareness Week. Now, that is a very important cause, bringing attention to the needs of the elderly who require regular care for leg ulcers.
Still, can’t we have National Puppy Day too? Ariana Grande demands it!
For what it’s worth, Australia does celebrate National Dog Day on August 26, raising awareness of responsible dog ownership.
Also, dog lovers should surely care for puppies all year round. In fact, you can adopt a pet right now from the RSPCA, Pet Rescue and Working Dog Rescue.
Still, until we have an official day to celebrate puppies, we’re just going to have to continue honouring them all 365 days of the year.
