Miss Piggy And Kermit Are Consciously Uncoupling (That's Gwyneth-Speak For Breaking-Up)

Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog are the latest couple to unravel in the celebrity break-up-ocalpyse sweeping the globe.

On Twitter, the on-again, off-again Muppets released a joint statement announcing their conscious uncoupling.

“After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, we have made the difficult decision to terminate out romantic relationship,” it read, as the tears of millions flooded the streets.

Given that they spruik their upcoming television series within the statement – yes, The Muppets will return to TV screens later this year – it’s hard not to see this all as a publicity stunt.

But then, is that so different to other celebrity pairings and unpairings?
