Lucy Peach Tells Us "How to Period Like a Unicorn" ('Cos Facebook Banned Ads for Her Fringe Show)

Wondering how it's possible to get banned from posting ads to Facebook just by uploading an image of a grapefruit?

Lucy Peach found a way.

The Perth singer was recently told her ads for Fringe World shows My Greatest Period Ever and How to Period Like a Unicorn were "non-compliant", with a spokesperson telling the ABC's Hack they were rejected for "containing images which depict or imply nudity".

So, prepare yourself for the hardcore nudity... of a halved grapefruit.

Peach is only kinda-surprised that, in 2018, the world's biggest social media platform would be so scandalised by a grapefruit being used to advertise a musical/comedy show about the menstrual cycle, delivered by a professional sexual health education consultant.

That's why she came direct to Student Edge headquarters to get the word out about her all-ages show How to Period Like a Unicorn, and to help destigmatise menstruation.

"The menstrual cycle is so much more than your period being on or off," she says.

"We're not educating girls about the powers that they actually have."

Finally, have you seen her latest music video?

You can catch How to Period Like a Unicorn at Perth Fringe World until 25 February 2018.
