Kristen Stewart Says “Dating A Girl” Opened Up Her Life: “Finally I Can Feel Again”

Kristen Stewart has never been accused of being too emotive.

(We say this as a compliment; her iciness and cool detachment has been used as a powerful weapon in numerous, non-Twilight movies. Adventureland and Clouds of Sils Maria, represent!)

But still, the media-skeptical actress saying she can finally “feel again” – during an interview, no less – is enough to raise an eyebrow. What is it, exactly, that returned Stewart’s senses?

“Right now I'm just really in love with my girlfriend,” she told Elle UK, while promoting her new Woody Allen movie, Café Society.

The girlfriend, of course, is Alicia Cargile; the visual effects producer who has long-been rumoured to be Stewart’s partner.

The interview with Elle marks the first time Stewart has confirmed their relationship.

In it, she also reflected on the downside to a past relationship with an unnamed dude (and we’re going to take the smallest leap imaginable to conclude its Robert Pattinson).

“When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialised, so I didn't like it,” she said.

“We were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, 'That's mine. You're making my relationship something that it's not.' I didn't like that.

“But then it changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, 'Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I'm not down with it or I'm ashamed of it, so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I'm so much happier.'”
