It’s Official: We’re Getting a “Joker” Sequel and It’s Called “Folie à Deux”

Could Harley Quinn make an appearance?

Since Joker was released in 2019, it’s been overwhelmed with accolades, Oscars (two, in fact) and a passionate fanbase.

Unexpected but wholly welcomed news just broke that the instant classic is getting a sequel. And that’s not all we’ve been told.

Todd Phillips, the director of Joker is taking on the project again and posted a picture of the script to his Instagram.

Just to tease us even more, he’s shared a snap of Joaquin Phoenix, aka the Joker himself, flipping through the script.

And the name of the sequel? Looks like it’s going by Folie à Deux, which sounds about as poetic and decadent as we’ve come to expect from this new Joker universe.

“Folie à deux” translates to “madness for two” and is a defined psychological disorder in which the same or similar mental disorder affects two or more people.

We know the Joker struggles with mental health and has psychologically dependent relationships with characters like Batman and Harley Quinn. So, who knows which character will join the Joker in his madness?

And to anyone boo-ing the fact there's a sequel...
