Interview: Molly Daniels from Tomorrow, When The War Began

Don't put off until Tomorrow what you can listen to today.
First as a book series and later as a hit film, Tomorrow, When The War Began has been an integral ingredient in many an Aussie teenager's coming-of-age.
It preceded such dystopian 'what-if' franchises as The Hunger Games and Divergent, wondering how a group of teens would survive (and do battle against) an invading army (while also surviving - and doing battle against - their raging hormones).
Twenty-three years after the first book was published, it remains just as influential and obsessed-over, thanks in part to the ABC's most recent adaptation into a six-episode TV series (which just wrapped up over the weekend).
We caught up with its star Molly Daniels ahead of the show's DVD and Blu-ray release.
During our chat, we asked Molly why Tomorrow still appeals to teens today, what new things she brings to the role of guerrilla ring-leader Ellie that we've not seen - or read - before, and whether or not she'd be able to cope in a similar scenario. (Her thoughts on how she'd fare: "Not so well.")
Bonus! Watch our 'Back To School With' chat featuring Tomorrow, When The War Began author John Marsden.
Tomorrow, When The War Began is now available on DVD & Blu-ray. It's also still a book too, FYI.
