Is This The Insta-Pocalypse? New ‘Gram Feed To Maybe Roll Out Any Day Now

Instagram, beloved social media presence to all #blessed individuals, is set to roll out a new algorithmic feed similar to that of Facebook and Twitter.

Needless to say, everyone is freaking out, with recent moves by high-profile Insta-celebs seeming to herald an imminent feed do-over.

Earlier today, a number of influencers and brands (and influencer-brands, like the Jenners) began asking their Instagram followers to turn on ‘notifications’, which would alert fans of every new post. (The new feed would no longer prioritise the most recent pics.)

Ugh Instagram if it's not broke don't fix it! Instagram is changing out of chronological order 😔 so let's say you love someone's photos but don't physically "like" their pics they will bump them to the bottom. It's called INSTAgram for a reason. I don't really understand it and there has to be another motive because you follow people for a reason.. I'm trying to see everyone's pics. That's why you created the unfollow button if u don't want to see their photos. I hate this new update @instagram is slowly trying to introduce & yes it's true they warned us all a few weeks ago.

According to Forbes, the flurry of activity was based on rumours that the algorithmic feed would take over from the current ‘reverse chronological order’ tomorrow.

On Twitter however, Instagram attempted to assuage the concerns of its users.

For now, Insta will apparently keep on testing the algorithmic feed among small test groups, so maybe don’t turn on those notifications just yet, unless you want a text or email everytime Kylie Jenner uploads something new to the ‘Gram. (Or maybe you do?!)
