How to Watch Every 2021 State of Origin Game

Game I kicks off tonight.

Tonight, we reignite the fiercest rugby rivalry that Australia has to offer when Queensland go head-to-head with New South Wales in Game I of the State of Origin.

Last year, Queensland scored a major upset over their southern rivals winning the series 2 – 1, but NSW are not going to take it lying down this year.

With the three-game series being one of the most-watched sporting events in all of Australia each year, let’s make sure you don’t miss a single try with our how to watch guide.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2021 State of Origin.

When and where is the 2021 State of Origin?

Last year’s State of Origin was disrupted by COVID and pushed to the end of the year.

Things are back to normal again this year as the series kicks off in June, smack bang in the middle of the NRL season.

Each state gets one home game, but the neutral match that was slated for the MCG in Victoria has been scrapped due to a COVID outbreak in Melbourne. That game has been moved to Townsville, firming up Queensland’s chances of winning again.

Game I

Wednesday, 9 June – Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Townsville, QLD.

Kick-off 8:10pm AEST.

Game II

Sunday, 27 June – Suncorp Stadium, QLD.

Kick-off 7:50pm AEST.

Game III

Wednesday, 14 July – Stadium Australia, NSW.

Kick-off 8:10pm AEST.

How can I watch the State of Origin?

For those of you who can’t get yourself to one of the games, don't stress 'cos there are a couple of ways you can catch all of the action.

Channel Nine have got you covered for all your State of Origin needs with the free-to-air broadcaster having the exclusive rights to the series.

The network’s streaming service 9Now will also have the three games available to stream live.

If you miss any, replays will be available on Kayo and Fox League immediately after each game.

Anything else I should know?

Yes, actually. Krispy Kreme have released limited-edition State of Origin doughnuts to help you feed that half-time craving.

If you’re a Blues fan then the NSW doughnut is for you, complete with blue icing and a white icing drizzle.

For Queenslanders, grab yourself the QLD doughnut. It’s an original glazed dipped in maroon icing, topped with a caramel truffle drizzle.
