How to Skip Puzzles In "The Last of Us Part 2"

No judgement here.
So, you want to spend more time in The Last of Us Part II examining the spiritual toll of your ceaseless bloodlust axing zombies in the head, and less time solving time-wasting puzzles.
We hear you. And so do the makers of the game, who have offered you the opportunity to skip any head-scratchers that are keeping your character, Ellie, from stabbing post-apocalyptic Seattle clean.
This addition is part of publisher Naughty Dog’s groundbreaking commitment to unprecedented accessibility, which allows low-vision and blind gamers to play thanks to 60 new features.
However, this particular puzzle-skipping feature will help any player who’d rather explore the game’s world unimpeded, and focus more on stealthy strategies to kill your enemies, living or undead. (Or, to expend their mental energy on the crushing emotional weight of the storyline. Either way, have fun!)
Here’s how you turn it on.
1. From the game’s main menu, or within the game’s pause screen, scroll down to 'Accessibility' and select 'Navigation and Traversal'.

2. Within this menu, you’ll be offered a range of nifty tools, including a ledge guard (which would help blind gamers 'feel' when they’re approaching a cliff via the controller’s vibrations) and infinite breath (meaning you’ll never die from drowning, which, honestly, is probably the only peaceful way to go in The Last of Us Part II, so your loss). However, the one you’re looking for today is 'Skip Puzzle Option'. Change the setting from 'Off' to 'On'.

3. Proceed with the game! When you get to a puzzle, hit pause again and now you’ll see 'Skip Puzzle' among the options.

4. You’ll be given one last chance to change your mind before skipping the puzzle. Consider it closely, because there’s no way to go back and attempt the puzzle later, even by restarting at your last checkpoint.

Now, go forth and explore the world of The Last of Us Part II without this one very specific obstacle in your way! Oh what wonders you'll find.

The Last of Us Part II is now available on PS4.
