How Did I Get Here? With Laura Ives Hicks, Assistant Chief Commissioner at Girl Guides Australia

How did Laura Ives Hicks get here?
This podcast is presented in partnership with Girl Guides Australia.
Since signing up at eight years old, Girl Guides has been a fixture of Laura Ives Hicks' life.
She's now a young adult and continues to gain skills, make connections and have fun as an Olave Program member, Assistant Chief Commissioner - Young Women at Girl Guides Australia and as a Unit Leader.
Laura joined us on How Did I Get Here to chat about the role the organisation played in her formative years.
At eight years old, it was the promise of s'mores that attracted Laura, but over the years outdoor adventures and learning crucial life skills made Girl Guides a key part of her development.
Recently, Laura was selected for the opportunity to travel to New York with Girl Guides, as part of an amazing team of young women speaking up about the need for equal access to technology for girls around the world. All while they build governance and advocacy skills, and make amazing connections.
Girl Guides is all about empowering girls and young women, and global opportunities like a trip to New York is just one of the incredible possibilities available for young women.
We chat to Laura about all things Girl Guides, her fav parts and the impact it has had on her.
