Here’s All the 2021 April Fool's Day Jokes That Have Us Rolling

Here’s All the 2021 April Fool's Day Jokes That Have Us Rolling

We low-key wish some of these were real.

It’s officially April Fool's Day, and if you’ve been on the internet for any portion of your life, you’ll know that this day is the perfect chance for brands and influencers to go rogue on social media.

As per usual, brands and personalities take to their favourite social media platform to, well, fool us with an outrageous new product or update.

Heck, you probably pranked someone in your own life today.

So, here are all of 2021’s contributions, so you can avoid getting properly fooled.

Krispy Kreme

Let’s start on a positive.

First off, Krispy Kreme Australia took to Instagram to announce the release of their Original Glazed spread.

Yes, that’s right, it’s literally the Original Glazed Doughnut glaze in a jar. Oh, how I wish this was real.

Unfortunately, this does look a lot like an April Fool's Day joke, so apologies for the tears. But if you just can’t go without this now that you’ve seen it, KIIS 1065 are running an online petition to try and make the product real.

So, sign your life away if you need the sugar hit.

Boost Juice

Our fave smoothie joint has also jumped on the bandwagon this year, but unfortunately, this one is super depressing.

Today, Boost made an announcement on their Facebook claiming that ‘cos of the introduction of their three new vegan drinks, they'll need to make room by getting rid of the beloved Mango Magic smoothie.

Yikes.

Way to throw vegans under the bus.

This is obviously devastating news so thank goodness it’s an April Fool's Day joke. I’m not sure my heart can take much more after that.

Subway

While Subway is mostly known for their giant sandwiches, they’re also popular for their sweet-as cookies.

Yesterday, Subway decided to hop on Facebook and announce to the world that they’re releasing a coriander cookie.

Now before you jump on the hate train, remember there are only two kinds of people: coriander haters and coriander lovers.

So, while some of y’all are expecting a soapy cookie, some of us are down for this ngl (pls no shame).

IKEA

Now that we’re full of coriander and doughnut glaze, here is IKEA’s contribution. Pet owners, pay attention.

IKEA announced on Facebook this morning that they are releasing a range of adorable IKEA-themed outfits for dogs.

All the cute as heck fits are designed with that classic blue and yellow IKEA plastic, so just imagine the adorable pics you could have snapped if you got your hands on the IKEA bucket hat and this line was actually real.

Dare & Vegemite

Now for a strange collab.

Vegemite and Dare Iced Coffee have teamed up to announce on Vegemite’s Instagram that they are releasing a Vegemite flavoured iced coffee.

Mmmm, tastes like a Sunday morning.

From the looks of things, they’re targeting customers that want iced coffee that tastes like Australia (just in case snooty coffee wasn’t enough).

While this is super weird and kind of gross sounding, I can’t lie, I low-key want to taste it.

Chobani

Need some rejuvenating skin care?

Well, seems like Chobani has your back, ‘cos this morning they announced on their Instagram a range of Chobani face masks made with “the goodness of Chobani Greek Yogurt” and real fruit.

There are three ‘flavours’ in the range to choose from too: Brightening, Anti-Aging and Hydrating.

This one is probably the most realistic announcement (if you’re ignoring the Krispy Kreme glaze) because it kind of makes sense.

Natural skin care is still super popular right now and to be honest, with cute packaging like that, they might be on to something.

Volkswagen

One of the world's biggest car brands has also decided to join in this year by switching up its name.

Volkswagen announced that they’re changing their name to Voltswagen to celebrate their renewed focus on electric cars, as well as the release of their all-electric SUV, the ID.4.

That’s right Voltswagen.

Although they said they were going to change their name, their Twitter handle has remained exactly the same, so it's pretty glaringly clear that this is an April Fool's Day prank.

As for the new car, it’s not clear if they’re actually releasing a new all-electric SUV or if that’s also just part of the prank but considering the way cars are headed, I wouldn’t put it past them.

Kikki.K

Here’s one for the students and the office workers.

One of Australia’s cutest stationery brands, Kikki.K has announced their limited edition snackbook. Not snack box, snackbook.

Essentially, it’s a box designed to look like a book, so that you can hide all your cheeky snacks inside.

Again: this is something people would actually buy!

SEEK

It's time for more dog content.

This year SEEK has also jumped on the pet product craze by announcing their pet separation anxiety product.

Basically, if you’re worried about leaving your fur baby at home all day, you can use SEEK’s Owner Cloner to help ease their separation anxiety and save you a bunch of money on psych fees.

It sounds pretty normal, but once you see how it’s done, it’s kind of ridiculous.

Back in the office and worried about how your fur baby will cope at home without you? We’ve got you covered with the...

First you upload a full-length pic of yourself to SEEK, then record yourself saying one-liners that your pet will recognise and soon you will get a lifesize cardboard cut-out of yourself that speaks to your dog when you’re not home (creepy).

Again, this isn’t real, so pls don’t actually go out and try to buy it.

WA Premier Mark McGowan

WA’s most hip politician, Premier Mark McGowan, has also put his two cents in this year with a controversial take.

Often, when I'm out and about, people ask me 'what is the official sandwich and coffee order of Western Australia?' and...

Posted by Mark McGowan on Wednesday, March 31, 2021

This morning on Facebook, McGowan announced that WA now has an official sandwich and an official coffee. Exciting right?

Wrong. He went with a long mac topped up and the continental roll (bro, what about the kebab?).

There are sure to be some opposing opinions on this one, but from the comments on Facebook, it looks like most West Aussies are happy to go with his choices this time round.

South Australia Police

Every now and then Aussie cops like to give us a good giggle on social media, so they obviously couldn’t pass up this opportunity.

This morning, the SA Police announced their newest squad of sausage sniffer dogs.

Their post on Facebook is pretty realistic and makes you wonder if they’re actually serious about bringing dachshunds on board.

“Dachshunds, while small in stature, are absolutely courageous in nature. They are a highly intelligent breed and have a sense of smell about forty times more efficient than a human's, making them excellent at tracking and hunting,” they said in a Facebook post.

Although this is surely an April Fool's Day gag, it’s still cute as heck.
