How did Alexis McDonald get here?

On this week's episode of How Did I Get Here? we're joined by young entrepreneur Alexis (Lexy) McDonald.

After suffering through bullying and mental health issues in high school, Lexy sat down and decided to launch a social media app to help young women realise their potential - "HerHelp".

After teaching herself coding and design in her bedroom by watching YouTube videos, Lexy launched her app to the world three years ago. 

Now 20, HerHelp is worth more than $2 million and has more than 10,000 users. 

We take Lexy back to her high school days, asking how she possibly started an app in Year 12, and how she got to where she is today.
