Happy Friday: Vera Blue Just Released Five New Versions of "Lady Powers"

Vera Blue & co. have just gifted you five more versions of the empowering banger "Lady Powers".

Vera Blue's "Lady Powers" is one of those tracks that just wriggles its way into your ear and nests there. It's probably a good reason to explain why you've been listening to it on rotation, right?

But maybe, given that it's been out for nearly a year, you've perhaps listened to it too much and moved on to other pumping tracks.

Well, it's ready to make you come crawling back with the release of a new EP, Power Ladies Remix EP. The release includes another five versions of the feminist anthem, including the Kodie Shane version that's on high rotation on Triple J the moment.

"Lady Powers" ft. Kodie Shane

This version is the most similar to the original. In fact, the only actual difference is the addition of Kodie Shane's fire verse which, disappointingly, only runs for a total of around 20 seconds.

Even though this is the second version of the song, it was actually released as the official single, so it's the one you're most likely to hear over the radio.

"Lady Powers" (TOKiMONSTA remix)

Known for her smooth collabs with Anderson. Paak and Yuna, Los Angeles producer TOKiMONSTA's remix of "Lady Powers" softens the raw grunt of the OG but still has enough groove for you to still boogie down to.

This one's for all the serial chillers out there.

"Lady Powers" (Maya Jane Coles remix)

If electro house is more what gets you up in the morning, Maya Jane Coles' remix of the track will be more suited to your taste. At six minutes, it's got a simple house beat and bass line and even makes Vera sound like an underwater angel.

This track's a definite groover.

"Lady Powers" (Alice Ivy remix)

Melbourne producer Alice Ivy is known for her sampling and layer-building, so you've got to expect that she's going to make this track as lush as a green field of dandelions. (And yes, it is by the way).

Go to your happy place with this one.

"Lady Powers" (Maria Marcus remix)

With unexpected synths and a driving distorted bassline, Maria Marcus' take on "Lady Powers" is a solid four-and-a-half minute adventure. If you want something you can bop your head and roll your shoulders to (doesn't everyone dance like this?), choose this one and learn all the "whoo" moments.
