Hannah Gadsby Brought a Touch of "Nanette" to the Emmys; Now Let Her Host in 2019

"#NotAllMen. But a lot of them."

Hannah Gadsby, a self-described "nobody from nowhere" (aka Tasmania), just rocked up at the Emmys. And killed.

Of course, she ain’t "nobody". Gadsby arrived on the 2018 Emmys stage to present a prize, having taken the world by storm with her stunning Netflix comedy special Nanette.

She undersold her appearance by joking that she only got to attend the event and score a "free suit, new boots, just ‘cos I don’t like men" (a tongue-in-cheek reference to her groundbreaking set).

"That’s a joke; just jokes, fellas, calm down," she added, in what may have been a bit of shade directed at Emmys co-host Michael Che, who previously Insta-Storied his not-positive-seeming feelings about Nanette.

The internet was delighted.

Expect to see Gadsby back in 2019 when Nanette is inevitably nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special (which is basically the category for stand-up specials).

That is, if she’s not also given the hosting gig.
