This You? Four in Five Aussies Are Not Eating Enough Fruit and Veg

A CSIRO survey has found that the majority of Australians are not eating the recommended daily intake of fruit and veggies.
The survey of 145,000 adults revealed only 24 per cent of women and 15 per cent of men were eating the recommended amount. Tut tut.
Those most in need of increasing their intake were found to be men, obese people, the unemployed and younger adults.

The ABC spoke with CSIRO research director Professor Manny Noakes, who explained that while the statistics are dire, she's seen the growth of more convenient methods of healthy food consumption such as pre-washed and pre-packaged vegetables.
She said that Australia's vegetable and fruit-eating habits reflect their lifestyle choices. "If you go out to eat, as many people do for many meals, you don't find that you get as many vegetables that you would need for a healthy diet," Professor Noakes said.
Unfortunately, however, the results aren't an improvement on previous years' surveys. "We've got a long way to go before we get to eating the volume of vegetables that are really important," she said.
If you're still not on board with eating more veggies, here's a cute dog GIF that's sure to change your mind.
