Here's Your First Look At Elizabeth Banks As Rita Repulsa From That "Power Rangers" Movie, Which Is Definitely A Thing Now

Remember when Elizabeth Banks signed up to play Rita Repulsa in a Power Rangers movie? That was not a bizarre nightmare you - or she - had!

To prove it, Entertainment Weekly has shared the first image of Banks as the villainous Repulsa, though she looks more like Poison Ivy crossed with a Face/Off contestant than the Rita we vaguely remember know and love.

The Rangers themselves are set to be played by less well-known names, including RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin, Dacre Montgomery and Becky G (yes, of “Shower” fame).

Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) is directing the flick, due for release in March of 2017. Banks, meanwhile, will soon helm a reboot of the Charlie’s Angels franchise, though we hope she picks a more comfortable outfit to wear on that set. Rita's rope-necklace seems like a real hazard.
