The First "Clifford the Big Red Dog" Trailer Is Out and We're Reliving Our Childhood

Big red doggo in The Big Apple.
As we all know, live action remakes of anything are all the rage in Hollywood right now. We’ve had Aladdin, Mulan and Beauty and the Beast (seems like Disney is the main culprit here).
Now, Clifford the Big Red Dog is joining their ranks and we ain’t even mad ‘cos doggos are life.
Last year, Paramount Pictures teased the live action film, and today we now have a fully fledged trailer to salivate like a dog over (see what I did there?).
Now you’re gonna need to suspend your belief a little when watching it, ‘cos tinsel town struggles to make CGI pets look real *cough The Call of the Wild cough*.
I guess we can forgive them since there aren’t any bright red, 20-foot tall Labradors in existence…. yet (note to self: convince Elon Musk to genetically engineer giant colourful dogs).
The new film gives us some insight into Clifford’s origins, showing Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) adopting the little red hound from a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese). The one catch though is that the more she loves Clifford, the more he grows. I wish the same thing happened for my biceps.
Once she takes him home, Emily and her uncle Casey (British comedian Jack Whitehall) discover that Clifford isn’t your ordinary dog. Now look, we know it’s just a kids movie but come on, Clifford was part of our childhood, plus the trailer features one of our fave BTS songs “Dynamite”.
Not to mention, Twitter has gone wild for the new film.
Also, how terrifying is this stand-in prop used on set for Clifford. Stuff of nightmares right there.
Clifford the Big Red Dog hit Australian cinemas 9 December.
