Australia Called "World's Number One" For New Universities

Sixteen Australian universities have scored a mention on a global list of the top 100 tertiary institutions under 50 years old.

This is just like that time Drake had fourteen simultaneous singles on the Billboard Top 200.

The survey of the world’s best ‘young universities’ was conducted by the Times Higher Education.

So impressive was Australia’s showing, Times Higher Education editor Phil Baty was moved to declare Australia “the world’s number one nation when it comes to the new generation of world-class universities.”

We are basically Pepsi.

The top ranking Australian uni was The University of Technology in Sydney, placed at #21.

Not to be outdone, the Canberra-based Australian National University was itself placed rather highly in the 2015 QS World University Rankings. (There are a lot of university rankings, apparently!)

ANU was among the top 10 institutes globally in the subject areas of agriculture and forestry, politics and international studies, history and development studies.

According to ABC News, University of Melbourne was ranked fifth for education and eighth in law, while the University of Sydney placed ninth in the subject of education.

To quote The Castle, “Looks like everybody’s kicked a goal.”
