The Internet Reacted To "The Bachelor" Finale As You Would Have Expected: With Rage

People flocked to the internet as a chapter closed on The Bachelor Australia last night. Here's what they had to say.

The winner was (pause for dramatic music...) Alex Nation, meaning it was "bye-bye" to other final contestant, Nikki Grogan. Both women were clear front runners for Richie Strahan's heart from the start, but judging from the nation's response, there was a pretty clear crowd favourite...

Even though Richie broke Nikki's heart on national television (talk about awkward), her fan-base completely had her back. She later said the public outpouring of support for her was surprising and overwhelming, adding "it was really heartwarming to see all the comments today - it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside."

Commenting on the torrential downpour of negative backlash, Richie said, "It's a weird position to be in."

"As a guy, you are quite protective... You'd be having arguments with children, people who don't understand, so you can't care about that stuff. Don't look at it, don't read it."

Other fans were also in disbelief over the hate directed at single mother, Alex.

If you're suffering from Bachelor-related withdrawal symptoms - relax. The gender-swapped alternative is incoming.

Strap yourselves in for more cringe-inducing representations of true romance. Oh, and drama. Definitely a lot more of that.
