Aussie Superhero Series “Cleverman” Is Getting A Second Season On The ABC

Well, we didn’t have to wait long for that.

The ABC confirmed yesterday that a second series to their indigenous superhero drama Cleverman will be produced, in collaboration with State-side partners SundanceTV.

You’re probably wondering, “Wait, didn’t this thing just debut yesterday? They’re already giving it a second series?”

Well, that’s just how confident Aunty is in Ryan Griffen’s dystopian, incendiary sci-fi saga. They don’t even need to know if you’re tuning in to watch it or not. They know eventually you will. You all will!

(Also, when you consider the international coverage the show garnered ahead of its premiere, it’s no surprise the ABC would renew their biggest export - not featuring Chris Lilley - in years.)

Production on Cleverman S2 begins later this year, and will again comprise of six hour-long episodes. You better believe Hunter Page-Lochard will be back to play the Cleverman.
