Brangelina, No More: Angelina Jolie Files For Divorce From Brad Pitt

Brangelina is to be unbound.
The celebrity supercouple is consciously uncoupling, proving that love (at least the kind developed on the set of a Doug Liman movie) is dead.
TMZ first revealed the legal filing that indicates Angelina Jolie is seeking to divorce Brad Pit after 10 years as an item. They were married in 2014 and have six children together.
Jolie is apparently seeking full physical custody of the kids, though Pitt has asked for visitation rights.
In a statement, her lawyer Robert Offer said: "This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”
Pitt followed up with his own statement to People magazine: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
The conspiracy theories surrounding their split are multitudinous and probably not worth giving much credence to, though they range from Jolie’s increasing concerns around Pitt’s apparent “consumption of weed and possibly alcohol” and his “anger problem”, to Jolie’s political aspirations, to suspicions of an affair between Pitt and his co-star Marion Cotillard on the set of Allied.
And in a fun twist, guess which trailer debuted today?
(The financial catastrophe that was Brangelina’s last big screen collaboration, By The Sea, has not been cited as a reason for the break-up… yet.)
The internet has responded to the news with typical sensitivity.
