The Age Tries To Undo History By Publishing Ad Saying Western Bulldogs Lost The AFL Grand Final

Many Australians watched the AFL grand final over the weekend to witness the Western Bulldogs' breathless, tear-jerking victory over the Sydney Swans.

Well, everyone except for the editors at The Age in Melbourne.

The newspaper ran an ad in today's paper from Victoria University, offering commiserations to the Doggies for their loss on Saturday.

Thing is, the Bulldogs won by 22 points, bringing to an end their 62-year premiership drought.

According to ABC News, two ads were prepared by Victoria University - a major sponsor of the team - for either outcome of the game.

The Age, obviously, ran the wrong ad.

The paper's editor-in-chief, Mark Forbes, apologised for the "stuff-up" on Macquarie Radio, saying that Victoria University would be offered a full refund.

"I suppose the only positive for them was it shows they were sticking by the Bulldogs in victory or defeat," he added, optimistically.
