A Student Was Caught Out Using a Selfie to Pretend He Was in His Zoom Class

The moment was shared on TikTok.

With schools and universities transitioning to online learning due to the coronavirus pandemic, it’s only natural that there will be a few technological difficulties.

There’s slow internet to deal with, finding new ways to communicate with one another and making sure your computer is in working order. Perhaps the most annoying issue: when your screen freezes while you’re in the middle of a Skype or Zoom video call.

However, it seems as if some students are beginning to take advantage of these technical problems.

One TikTok user, @kingjuuuliann, shared a video of her classmate, who had uploaded a selfie as his background image to make it look like he was in his Zoom class. His teacher would have simply assumed his video had frozen.

"Will my professor ever notice he hasn’t moved in 30 minutes?" the TikTok user wrote on the video.

It’s not entirely clear which country the video was filmed in, but students all over the world seem to be coming up with equally as smart (and devious) ideas.

One particularly popular one seems to be pretending that your device is glitching during a presentation.
