A "Paranormal Activity" Reboot Is Coming and I’m Already Shaking

The new film is due for a March 2022 release.
Good news for horror fans: according to The Hollywood Reporter, the sort of terrifying Paranormal Activity franchise is getting a reboot with a new movie on the way.
While the exact plot details are being kept pretty quiet, the new film is reportedly set to stay true to the original series’ roots and continue to play on the ‘found footage’ style of shooting and editing.
The new film is due for release on 4 March 2022, so hold on to your Ouija board.

Happy Death Day’s Christopher Landon and Underwater’s Will Eubank are teaming up to bring fans this scary new chapter. Both Jason Blum and Oren Peli, who created the original movies, are back again as producers, and Steven Schneider is returning as executive producer.
If you haven’t yet seen the original franchise, or you were just a bit too young for the spookiness, Paranormal Activity is a horror film franchise that captures a series of paranormal behaviour on security cameras inside a home.
The first movie—released in 2007—follows a young couple who are being haunted by a supernatural presence (and not a nice one at that). They eventually become possessed by the presence in their home and meet an ending of death and disappearance.
Originally, the franchise was so popular that it sparked five sequels in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015, all with a similar premise and style. It’s too early to say whether or not the reboot will bring more than one film, but I’m crossing my fingers.
At this stage, 2021 seems to be the year of horror reboots, with 70s classics The Exorcist and Halloween also in the works since late last year.
You can watch the original Paranormal Activity on BINGE, Foxtel Now and Stan. It is rated M for a mature audience.
