A Graduating Student Got Stuck on a Train, So the Passengers Threw Him a Better Graduation Instead

It’s graduatin’ season in America.

It’s also summer, which means the New York City subway system has become increasingly unreliable.

That was bad news for Jerich Marco Alcantara, a student who got stuck on a delayed E train to his graduation ceremony at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, ABC reports.

Having missed the ceremony on account of the train’s two-hour delay, his friends (and eventually, fellow passengers) threw him an impromptu party, giving him a makeshift degree and, of course, playing Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” on their phone.

Bask in the communal/commuting cuteness.
