50 Cent, True To His Name, Is Bankrupt

In news that has tickled pun-loving headline-writers around the globe, rapper 50 Cent has declared bankruptcy.
We will spare you those puns in the following article, but just know that this has been really, really hard on us.
Curtis Jackson III, as 50 Cent is legally known, filed for bankruptcy yesterday; the very day he was supposed to hand over his net worth statement and federal tax returns to court.
See, last week a Manhattan jury found that Jackson owed Florida woman Lastonia Leviston US$5 million (AUD$6.7 million) for allegedly posting a sex tape of theirs online.
It was a very shonky and ugly move by Jackson, whose main intention was to shame his rival Rick Ross, with whom Leviston has a child, totally ignoring the toll it would take on the innocent woman caught in the crossfire.
Fiddy was meant to hand over his financial details so the jury could figure out how much more money they should award Leviston for her emotional distress.
His bankruptcy filing allows him to reorganise his finances without having to pay creditors.
Though he's avoided payment this time, 50 Cent does not get away unscathed. Twitter is having a field day, and this whole move has no doubt bruised Fiddy's once impenetrable ego. (His reputation was already fairly diminished.)
